World Wetlands Day 2023. Making the wetland restoration challenge compelling. For both generalists and policy-makers.

The WWD 2023 campaign poster shows the actions of one individual triggering a ripple effect. Graphic design by Damien Gallay.
Wetlands safeguard and replenish our freshwater supply, provide a buffer against violent storms and flooding, and are hives of biodiversity. Yet 35% of them have disappeared in the last 50 years.
For World Wetlands Day 2023, the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands needed to call attention to this problem and create a call to action - particularly targeting policy-makers and wetland/environmental activists.
I authored the poster and multiple core info sheets (three samples linked below) that integrated concepts from a vast range of technical materials, framing the challenge for a more generalist public and policy-maker audience.
The year 2023 was the fifth time Ramsar used my skills for World Wetlands Day. Our collaboration began with a major strategic turbo-charging of the event in 2015, with follow-up copywriting for this awareness-raising day in 2016-17-18.
